WILLETTON SPORTS CLUB - December 2008 Update
The Sports Club has a Corporate Gym Membership at Riverton Leisureplex (Contours Fitness Centre), which enables Sports Club members to get 12 months gym membership for $420 (a reduction of $120 off the normal price). This is a great opportunity for members to get fit and save – make it your New Year’s Resolution! Just present your WSC membership card and photo ID to take advantage of this offer.
For renewing members, it is no longer necessary to renew as a group. You may do so individually as your membership is due. Members wanting more information may contact Board Member, Terry Simpson on 0422 806 622.
The Club will be closed from 25 December to 1 January inclusive, opening again on Friday 2 January. There will be no Wednesday night meals on Christmas Eve, but they will recommence on 7 January.
The Club is currently enjoying its best year financially for some time and is trading at a modest profit this year. This is a welcome situation and is largely due to our success in attracting functions, the very popular Wednesday night meals and member support generally. The continued support of members is essential to maintain this positive momentum and keep our Club alive. We look forward to seeing you at the Club soon.
We have received good news that the upgraded lighting on the main oval is going to happen by April next year. This is terrific news for the Divisions that use the oval, particularly for night training, and will greatly enhance our sporting venue.
Our cricketers are enjoying great success this season with all four teams in top 6 positions needed to make the finals, the A Grade team currently sitting in fourth spot. Such is the spreading fame of our Men in White, that Sports FM plan to broadcast live from our Club early in the New Year. We will keep you informed.
Last, but not least, on behalf of the Board I am pleased to wish all members, staff and your families a safe, relaxing and enjoyable festive season.
